Why did I choose Inner Journey Counselling?
I thought I was a strong, competent, professional mum and could handle
everything until a time came when several life changing events happened to
me all within a couple months. Now if these had happened individually I
could of coped, but when several of these events occurred quickly one after
each other it all became too much for me. While I tried to cope on my own,
after a couple of months I realized I couldn't and needed some help. This
was a huge step for me to admit I needed help and then finding the right
therapist to help me. I chose Rhonda because of recommendations and her
caring and professional manner. During my sessions Rhonda and the
environment she has created made me feel very welcome and comfortable. At
first it was hard to tell a stranger my worries and concerns but after the
first session Rhonda made me feel comfortable not only with her but with
myself as well, and it became easier to talk to a stranger rather than
someone who knew me well as I knew she would give me objective and
non-judgmental advise and support.
I thank Rhonda for the support, strategies and books that she lent me to
help me through and know that because of Rhonda I now have the strategies
and thoughts to help me through, however if the need arise I would go back
to see Rhonda in a heartbeat.
For the past 2 ½ years Rhonda has provided me with an extremely professional and expert counselling service.
Rhonda's kind and understanding manner was imperative to the profound difference counselling has made to my life. Rhonda has given me the faith and confidence in myself to accept and appreciate the things in life that I cannot change.
Rhonda's impressive knowledge on many different levels was invaluable to me. Rhonda is a "one of a kind" and I will always be grateful to her for being the wonderful counsellor that she is.
Thank you for all of your help Rhonda. Coming to see you was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Rhonda Cashin from Inner Journey Counselling has worked individually with each of our girls (aged 9, 10, and 11 years) at different times as the need has arisen. Our family is a blended one, so the children have experienced losses and many changes in their short lives. Rhonda has worked with each child to help them to understand their own unique emotional reactions, and has provided strategies to deal with negative feelings and to build self-esteem. The children were always eager to attend their sessions with Rhonda, and would return feeling happy and positive. The girls continue to use strategies they have learnt during the sessions in their everyday lives.
Rhonda also worked with us as parents, providing information and support to help us help our children during difficult family-law proceedings recently.
Rhonda is a warm, caring, genuine lady, who has a gift for working with children. She has made a wonderful contribution to our family's ability to cope with life's challenges, and we sincerely recommend her services.
In the song Amazing Grace there is a line "I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now I see." That's how I would describe what has happened in my life over the last 8 months that I have been having counselling with Rhonda. I feel that my life started again the day I came to see her.
It is hard to find the right words to express my deep appreciation for what she has done for me. Without her support, guidance, encouragement, empathy, respect and thoughtfulness I'm not sure if I could have done it.
No matter how I felt before a visit to her I know I always felt better after I came out.
It has been my pleasure to know Rhonda, to have been able to sit and talk to her, to joke, to laugh, to shed tears but above all to grow!
So thank you Rhonda for all that and more.
